Born in December 4th 1974 in Barcelona, Spain, Víctor Garcia started working in the film industry as a Special FX make up artist in Brian Yuzna’s Faust: Love of the Damned. From that moment on he became a regular collaborator of the DDT crew, the SFX company that won the Oscar for their work in Guillermo del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth, working in movies like The Devil’s Backbone, Romasanta, Talk to Her or Hellboy.
In 2003 he directed El Ciclo, a short film that premiered in the official selection at the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia 2003 and had a long run in the international film festival circuit earning various awards including the Silver Meliès Award for the Best European Fantastic Short Film at the Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival in 2005 and the Best Horror Short Film at the Screamfest Film Festival in LA in 2004.
In 2006 he shot his first movie, the Joel Silver produced Return to house on haunted hill for Dark Castle and Warner Premiere.
Right after finishing Return to house on haunted hill, he jumped on the director’s chair again to helm 30 Days of night: Blood trails, a 7 episodes webserie that aired over at www.fearnet.com and was produced by Fearnet and GhostHouse Pictures under the supervision of Sam Raimi.
Between 2009 and 2010 he shot Mirrors 2 for 20th Century Fox and Regency Pictures and Hellraiser: Revelations for Dimension Films.
In 2011 he shot the short film T is for Tiles for the ABCs of Death online competition.
In 2012 he directed Gallows Hill aka The Damned, a supernatural thriller starring Peter Facinelli and Sophia Myles that had its world premiere in the official selection at the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia 2013.
He’s currently in postproduction of his last feature An Affair to Die for, starring Claire Forlani, Jake Abel and Titus Welliver.
